Hours: 8:30 a.m. – 4:15 p.m.
Responsible to: Head Counselor, Program Director, and Camp Director
Qualifications: At least two (2) years of HS/previous experience at Camp Rauch
Responsibilities:
1. Supervise and lead assigned camper group with coworker
2. Participate in camper activities in an enthusiastic manner as appropriate
3. Responsible for being informed and knowledgeable regarding Camp Rauch philosophy
and policies
4. Attend and participate in required staff training program and weekly staff meetings
5. Attend a minimum of one overnight camp-out/evening activity
6. Implement camp program and goals as scheduled
7. Cooperate with co-worker(s) in establishing group spirit and positive group
management
8. Lead group in an organized, safe manner per camp procedures.
9. Help with activities as assigned
10. Set a positive example for campers and coworkers by being positive and by using
good judgment
11. Establish a minimum of 2 goals for the summer with your program director

Duties:
1. Ability to handle camper groups independently in a safe and appropriate manner
2. Responsible for providing direct supervision and planning for junior counselors and CIT.
3. Demonstrate ability to delegate responsibility among staff and campers
4. Demonstrate ability to plan and initiate activities within the camp’s philosophy and policies. The co- head counselors, working together are viewed as idea persons who assume leadership for their group.
5. Participate in camper activities as appropriate rather than sitting and watching.
6. Responsible for being informed and knowledgeable regarding Camp Rauch philosophy, policies, and procedures, and ensuring that it is followed by staff and campers.
7. Attend and participate in staff training program as scheduled
8. Assist directors in evaluating staff as may be required
9. Attend a minimum of one overnight camp-out, evening program and parent- contact program depending on assigned group..
10. Conduct meetings with his/her staff to facilitate the camp program
11. Plan with staff age appropriate daily games, stories, structured interaction and conversation time topics during clubhouse time and scheduled activity. Areas.
12. Make sure that campers are participating, kind to others and following CAMP.
13. Responsible for implementing the camp nature program per the camp guidelines
14. Responsible for coaching and including CITs in camper activities.
15. Responsible for developing a shared working relationship with co- worker which includes establishing specific areas of responsibility for each which are shared with your PD

Hours: 8:15 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Responsible to: Program Director and Camp Director
Qualifications: 3 years college or previous Camp Rauch experience; education major preferred; CPR and First Aid certified; possesses enthusiasm and spirit
Attendance: Eight weeks perfect attendance is expected. Any deviation must be requested to The Camp Director. Any deviation may affect your employment.

Responsibilities:
1. Coach, lead, and supervise assigned camper group(s) and staff in an enthusiastic manner.
2. Introduce, lead, and participate in a minimum of one (1) unique, age appropriate activity per week with your assigned groups.
3. Responsible for being informed and knowledgeable regarding Camp Rauch philosophy and policies and insure that staff adheres them to.
4. Attend, participate, and lead activities during staff training program and assist with staff training make-up as needed. Attend Pre-Camp if available.
5. Assist with the planning of and attending the introduction to overnight camping, the overnight campout or evening camp activity as assigned
6. Implement and promote with spirit the camp program and goals.
7. Motivate staff to plan and implement safe, varied, and age-appropriate activities.
8. Lead, supervise and participate in daily group activities in an organized, safe manner; i.e., games, fishing, computers, archery, electives etc., and motivate and assist staff to do the same.
9. Substitute for absent staff members and Program Director when necessary.
10. Consult with PD regarding weekly plans by Thursday and submit on line by Sunday.
11. Provide Program Director with input regarding staff evaluations, weekly plans, weekend emails, coaching challenges, and camper/staff needs.
12. Supervise and lead assigned camper trips as assigned.
13. Orient counselors to trip procedures.
14. Serve as a resource person for staff.
15. Submit year-end report, to include equipment needs, program suggestions, and an archery and rocketry inventory as assigned.
16. Pending availability, participate in the JC and CIT training sessions in May as assigned.
17. Attend parent appreciation evening activity week 8
18. Attend 2 DH pre-camp orientation meetings as scheduled to include: Communications, Observations, Scheduling, Planning and Trips.
19. Be familiar with the camp’s nature and low ropes program.
20. Maintain and organize assigned equipment sheds.

Hours: 8:30 am – 4:15 pm
Reports to: Health Care Manager
Qualifications: (Minimum Education and Experience)
Current first aid certification. Advanced levels may be required depending on the camps
location and distance from emergency services as well as other medical personnel available on site.
Current CPR certification.
Experience in first aid and emergency management services.
Driver’s license.

Position Purpose:
The Health Care Assistant is responsible for assisting in providing health and safety services to campers and staff.

Essential Job Functions:

1. Under the direction of the Health Care Manager, assist in providing health care and first aid services to meet the needs of camp staff and campers.
a. Assist with daily medication management.
b. Help supervise and care for people admitted to the Health Center for care.
c. Provide CPR and First Aid coverage as needed at designated times and locations.
d. Provide direct care to staff within the scope of their skills, the camp’s health care manual, and treatment procedures.
2. Monitor and assist in maintaining health and safety practices while working in other areas throughout camp.
Prepare athletic areas and waterfront with adequate water, sunscreen, and other prevention materials.
Assist in ensuring campers wash before entering the dining area.
Work with other staff to minimize/eliminate health and safety risks.

Other Job Duties:
May accompany campers off-site for clinic visits.
This position is sometimes combined with another position such as Activity Specialist or Counselor. Job duties outline times when the person is on first aid duty and when their primary focus is the other position.
Relationships:
First Aid positions are often linked to activity areas in addition to them being apart of the health care staff. First aid staff often have the added role of ensuring safety in the high risk areas of camp.
Equipment Used:
Camps should designate the level of first aid equipment available for this position. In addition, indicating the response time for emergency services to reach the camp would be important information for this position.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Experience in both children and adult illness/injury care.
Desire to work with the camp’s target population.
Community health knowledge.
Physical Aspects of the Job:
Ability to lift/assist campers and staff.
Ability to read and follow directions on medication labels, health forms, physician orders, and parent letters.
Ability to use a telephone.
Ability to maintain written record system.
Ability to quickly get to remote locations on camp property over uneven terrain.
Ability to observe and assess sanitation and safety conditions of the camp.
Exhibit endurance to meet emergency needs.

Experience in administrative roles at similar camp
Experience in the development and delivery of programs and activities for similar
population.
Current instructional certification in program or related experience.
Current certification in first aid and CPR.

Position Purpose:
To further the mission of the camp through the planning and delivery of program activities and events. Design and deliver program activities that are safe, fun, and appropriate to the campers’ age and abilities. Assist in the management of the overall camp operation at the direction of the camp director.
Essential Job Functions:
Deliver a fun program to campers.
Ensure lesson plans are prepared and implemented that meet camp outcomes and the
abilities of the campers.
Evaluate program delivery abilities of staff.
Deliver progressive program activities.
Evaluate the success of the program and the development of the campers’ abilities and skills in various program activities.
Coordinate all camp programs and campfire activities with other staff.
2. Ensure that camp staff and campers know and follow safety and educational procedures during camp programs.
Assist in the implementation of staff training.
Provide guidelines for programs utilizing camp equipment.
Ensure campers and staff follow safety procedures in all program areas.
3. Assist in the management and care of the physical facilities and equipment in all program areas.
Oversee daily checks of area and equipment for safety, cleanliness, and good repair.
Ensure that program areas are kept fee of hazards and debris.
4. Supervise and evaluate Program Specialists to develop and implement all facets of camp program activities
Regularly monitor work of program specialists.
Provide feedback and guidance to program specialists.
Provide recommendations and concerns to camp director regarding program specialists’
performances.
5. Develop and implement schedules and records for all areas of camp program and facilities.
Create camper and group program and activity schedules.
Develop and supervise staff schedule for programs and activities.
Collect and evaluate records; report and evaluate camp program and activity areas.
Other Job Duties:
Attend administrative staff meetings.
Maintain clear and positive written and verbal communication with all camp staff.
Participate enthusiastically in all camp activities, providing support and guidance to those assigned as leaders.
Participate as a member of the camp staff team to deliver and supervise evening programs, special events, overnights, and other all-camp activities and camp functions.
Provide ongoing program ideas to counseling and activity area staff.
Relationships:
Program Directors often have direct relationships with the counseling staff and may actually supervise Counselors who also have program activity responsibility. Program Directors may in some cases act as an Assistant Camp Director and be placed in charge when the Director is absent.

Identify the specific equipment and facilities at the camp, which may be the responsibility of this position.

Visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to environmental and other hazards
related to the activity.
Physical ability to respond appropriately to situations requiring first aid. Must be able to
assist campers in an emergency (fire, evacuation, illness, or injury) and possess strength and endurance required to maintain constant supervision of campers.

Some physical requirements of a program position could be endurance including standing, some bending, stooping, and stretching. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity to manipulate program equipment and program activities. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate camper activities/programs. Willingness to live in a camp setting and work irregular hours delivering program in the facility available. Operate with daily exposure to the sun and heat and varying weather conditions.

Documented experience in arts and crafts instruction or documented training and experience.
Current certification in first aid and CPR.

Position Purpose:
To further the mission of the camp through the development and delivery of arts and crafts activities that are safe, fun, and appropriate to the campers’ age and abilities. Assist in the management of the alts and crafts buiding and related equipment and supplies.

Essential Job Functions:
1. Develop and deliver an arts and crafts program that is appropriate for the age and ability of the campers
Write lesson plans that meet camp outcomes and the abilities of the campers.
Evaluate abilities of campers and staff.
Design and deliver arts and crafts activities that make use of different art mediums, make use of the camp’s natural environment, and use the art resources most efficiently.
Evaluate the success of the arts and crafts program.
2. Ensure that camp staff and campers know and follow safety and educational procedures
Assist in the implementation of staff training for arts and crafts.
Train other staff in their responsibilities at the arts and crafts range.
Ensure campers and staff follow safety procedures.
Assist counselors with the development of art kits for use by cabins and for special events.
3. Assist in the management and care of the physical facilities and equipment in the arts and crafts program area
Maintain the arts and crafts equipment, including (Please list any specific equipment or supplies that may be the responsibility of this position. Include specialty items such as looms, candle making or other skills that may require further training or knowledge).
Ensure the security of the arts and crafts equipment and supplies, including clear inventory and planning for replacement of supplies in a timely manner.
Conduct a daily check of the area and equipment for safety, cleanliness, and good repair.
Clean arts and crafts area, keeping it free of hazards and debris.
Other Job Duties:
Participate enthusiastically in all camp activities, planning and leading those as assigned.
Participate as a member of the camp staff team to deliver and supervise evening programs, Special events, overnights, and other all-camp activities and camp functions.
Assist in the planning of any special events especially in the areas of decorations and costumes.

Program Specialists often have direct relationships with the counseling staff and may actually serve as a counselor with a camper group when not on duty in their activity area. Please note relationships with the maintenance staff in regard to this position and the care of the facility and equipment. List opportunities when appropriate to work with visiting or guest artists.

Identify the specific equipment and supplies utilized in this program area.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Training and experience in teaching arts and crafts to children.
Desire and ability to work with children outdoors in varied conditions.
Experience in designing and making decorations and costumes for special events.

Documented experience in field sports instruction or documented training and experience in the variety of sports the camp offers.
Current certification in first aid and CPR.

Position Purpose:
To further the mission of the camp through the development and delivery of field sports activities that are safe, fun, and appropriate to the campers’ age and abilities. Assist in the management to the physical operation of the field sports equipment and facilities.
Essential Job Functions:
1. Develop and deliver a field sports program that is appropriate for the age and ability of the campers
Write lesson plans that meet camp outcomes and the abilities of the campers.
Evaluate abilities of campers and staff.
Deliver progressive field sports activities. It would be important here to specify specific sports that this person may be responsible for such as softball, baseball, soccer, field hockey, lacrosse, or others.
